SwiftIRC is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Network Administrators.
After conducting an internal recruitment process via written applications, existing network management chose three candidates that stood above the rest.
Congratulations are in order for Patje, Sara, and zomg, the successful candidates. With this boost to the Network Administration team, we are hoping to get some interesting things underway on SwiftIRC.
In addition to their main responsbilities as Network Administrator, we have also tentatively named two of our new NAs as responsible for two areas of the network:
Patje is responsible for our Support Infrastructure, and Sara is responsible for our newly forming community department, which will aim to engage our users in fun events. Stay tuned for further developments!

Regretfully, it has been necessary to remove the server administrator "sp0tz" from his position with the SwiftIRC network. This is due to violating the trust granted to him by the SwiftIRC network, and endangering users by releasing their confidential information.
As such, all users should take heed that sp0tz is no longer a member of SwiftIRC staff and should thus not be trusted in such capacity.

To all of the SwiftIRC community,
On behalf of all of the SwiftIRC staff both past and present, I'd like to wish Awong a good bye from everyone.
For those of you who knew him personally, his departure will be sorely missed. For those who did not know him, he has been a crucial member of the Network Administrative team for several years now.
I hope that life treats you well and wish you the best of luck in your future adventures.
Thank you and Good Bye

Note: As of January 14th 2012, the applications for the Helper positions within #IRChelp are no longer open. The rank won't cease to exist and you may still be eligible to be selected for promotion by the SwiftIRC staff.
Hey there!
Help is available for users in a bunch of different ways, but one of the main places users find it is #IRCHelp. In recognition of the fact that this channel is very much run by users, for users, I am pleased to announce that we are opening applications for Helper positions within #IRChelp.
Helpers can be spotted by their 'voice' status in #IRCHelp. You will also be able to identify a few Senior Helpers by their 'halfop' status.
Don't confuse Helpers with the support and other network staff who will still be around the channel, as well as monitoring the other support mechanisms such as #Support and the ticketing site.
Include your responses within the body of the email. Do NOT include any attachments or your application may be disregarded:

We're pleased to announce a new test link server Lunas.fr.eu.SwiftIRC.net. This server will provide another native IPv6 server to our IPv6 pool.
We'd like to wish Lunas' admin Redzzy the best of luck during her trial link; it should be a fine new addition to our server pool.

The server tokine.fr.eu.SwiftIRC.net has been granted a 30 day test link to the network. The server is located in Strasbourg, France.
Good luck to sp0tz; we hope your server will prove itself to be a great addition to the network.
